2019

January

This year brings a new chapter to our book.  After 19 years, Wendy has resigned from NHS.  Having a bit more time on our hands we are hoping to get back to spending time at dog shows!  We started off with Bonnie who attended her first show on the 5th January.  Bonnie absolutely loved the day, with excitement levels to a high!  She received a first placing under Judge Ros Timperon, Triforce. Bonnie also celebrated her first birthday!

February - Our plan was to attend Yorkshire Open Show with Freya and Bonnie but Amy had other plans - on the 4th of February Amy delivered two beautiful pups - a girl and a boy.  Stregato Fifth Edition (Louie) and Stregato Quintina (Tina) are such a delight!  Tina will stay at Stregato.

March - We had a visitor to Stregato - the absolutely gorgeous Odin.  Odin is a son from Katy and Bram.  He settled well with the gang and Katy welcomed her son with love and attention.

On the 17th of March we attended Ayrshire Collie Club Open Show with Freya.  This was Freya's first time at a show since November last year.  We were absolutely thrilled when Freya won open bitch and then went on to win Best Bitch and Best In Show under judge Irene Green (Iolair).  It was a fabulous day.  At the end of March we attended Scottish Breeds with Nala and Freya.  Nala was placed 3rd in Limit Bitch under Judge Anne Hassock (Camanna Rough Collies).  The following day we attended West Lothian Canine Club where Bonnie was placed 3rd in a very large AV class.  This was Bonnie's second show and she was a little star.  We are looking forward to the future with this girl.

July - Well we haven't updated the page for a while.  We have had a great few months here at Stregato.  Amy's gorgeous boy Louie left to go to his new home in Rosshire.  He has already been on a few holidays and has a wonderful life.  Amy's daughter Tina is growing into a beautiful little lady.  She is five month's old now and has  such a gentle soul.  All the dogs have decided to grow a new coat...…..that only means the old one needs to come out first so plenty grooming has been done.

August - What a month!  We travelled to Builth Wells in the torrential rain to attend The Welsh Kennel Club Championship Show with Nala.  Nala was wearing her summer coat but still managed to pull out all the stops.  She was placed first in Limit Bitch and then went on to win her 2nd CC and topped it off with Best of Breed under judge Mr J McCarte (Roughrigg).  An absolutely fabulous day for us and Nala's breeder Linda McCormick (Lynmack).

The following weekend we stayed nearer to home and attended SKC at Ingliston with Blaze and Bonnie, again both wearing their summer coats.  This was Bonnie's first championship show and she took this in her stride.  She was placed first in Yearling Bitch, qualifying her for Crufts 2020.  Blaze was the star of the day, this big gentle boy who loves to show was placed 1st in Open Dog and then went on to win Dog CC and topped it off with Best of Breed.  It was an absolute honour to go into the main ring with Blaze who was shortlisted! A very proud moment.  A huge thank you to the judge Mr K S Wilberg for thinking so highly of Bonnie and Blaze...…...this is certainly a month we won't forget.  Credit also goes to the breeder Di Collino (Imaginist) for entrusting Blaze to us six years ago.
